JSS Dental College and Hospital Library and Information Centre was established in the year 1986 to support the educational and research objectives of the institute by providing information in the field of Dentistry. The library is aims to develop a comprehensive collection of books, e books, journals and magazines useful for the faculty, students and research community.
The Library located on the basement floor of the college building, Covering a total area of 1211 Sq. Mts. It has a seating capacity of over 225 Students.
Library is well equipped with Books, Journals, Thesis and Dissertations, E-Journals, E-Books, Full text and abstractive databases, CD-ROM’s and Video Cassettes. Library is fully automated and entire library is Wi-Fi enabled. Recreational unit comprised with Newspapers, Magazines, Kannada/English classics and spiritual books.
The library offers services such as Circulation/lending Services, User education, Library Orientation, Reference Services, Internet Services, Book Bank Scheme, Circulation Section, Reprographic Services, Newspaper Clipping, Interlibrary access, OPAC.
Library is using the Koha an integrated Library Management software package with all the modules for library housekeeping operations. The Online Public Access Catalogue has more than 9920 records of books. Using OPAC, user can search the books by Author, Title, Subject and keywords. Also, the users can get information about the latest editions of periodicals, books and the status of the document.
Workshops are conducted to educate the students, researchers, and faculty to search the various information sources and the retrieval techniques to be used. Hands on training by service providers of the various databases are also included under these workshops.
The institutional library committee meeting will be held once in a year where, review of budget estimation, proposals for latest databases, approval for scientific National and international journals to be subscribed, preclinical books to be added, library E-station purchases will be discussed.
The ILMS software is supported by Koha version 22.05 which is partially automated since 2021, the institution has contractual agreement with concerned vender for annual maintenance.
Koha is an Integrated Library System with a range of features including Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) module which provides a simple and clear interface for library users to perform tasks such as searching for and reserving items and suggesting new items.

Circulation Section:

Circulation Section handles the Front Desk operations of the library and is very important because it is the first contact point for faculty and users to the library. Efficiently functioning Circulation Desk leaves a lasting impression on the user and hence it is very important section of the library. |

In Journal Section Contain 19 National and 74 Internation Print Journals and 4390 Back Volumes are Displayed. Back issues of periodicals and dailies are maintained at this section reference purpose. |
Reprographic Section:

Reprography facilities namely photocopying and scanning is available for the members of the library Only those materials that are not lent out of the library can be photocopied. |

Library and information Centre Reading room facility available with150 seating capacity. |
Newspaper Section:

It maintains 13 subscribed newspapers of which are 8 Kannada and 5 English. The current information can be accessed through newspapers. |
Computer Section:
