The library has a well-developed and systematic policy for the collection and development of learning resources.The comprehensive collection comprises both traditional resources – books and journals in print and electronic resources – the CD ROMs, videos, slides, online journals etc.The book collection of about 13000 volumes, comprises books on pharmaceutical sciences and allied sciences. A modest collection of books for competitive exams is maintained. A user can relax with the library’s general collection of biographies, fiction, philosophy etc.

Glimpses of the Program
On 12th August 2023, the Library and Information Center at JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore, celebrated National Librarians' Day with a series of engaging events. The day commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the esteemed Registrar, Dr. B. Manjunatha, marking the beginning of the Librarians' Day celebration. The lamp lighting inauguration, led by the Registrar, Principal Dr. T. M. Pramod Kumar, Vice-Principal Dr. G. V. Pujar, and Librarian Sulakshana H. V., added prestige to the event. A heartfelt tribute was paid to Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, followed by a captivating book exhibition showcasing a wide array of Pharmacy books. Book stalls from four publishers—Books Paradise, Ahuja Book Company, Standard Book Company, and Maruthi Books House—facilitated enriching discussions and interactions among dignitaries, faculty, and students. The event emphasized the importance of libraries in promoting literacy, fostering intellectual curiosity, and encouraging lifelong learning. The day concluded with refreshments and a commitment to future initiatives that celebrate literature and knowledge, reinforcing the library's role in the educational and cultural enrichment of the institution.

World Book Day Celebration: Author Talk in April 2024
The Library and Information Center at JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore, celebrated the World Book Day on 23rd April 2024. The main objective of the celebration was to highlight the importance of books, the joy of reading, and to promote the habit of cultivating knowledge continuously.
Event Highlight
As part of the celebration, an engaging author talk was conducted featuring Ms. Anvita Sudarshan, a renowned author and founder of the Silverfish Books Initiative. Her talk focused on the significance of books and reading. She emphasized how books unlock new worlds, nurture critical thinking, and shape well-informed individuals, igniting a passion for reading within the audience.
